In case I have not already told you about this a million times, here are some important conversations that have taken place at my place of employment thus far:
8th grader: "Miss, if black people were so hated by the white people in olden times, why did the white people bother bringing them over here on those boats?"
Miss D: "What? Really?"
8th grader: "Miss, when was Martin Luther King president? He freed the slaves, right?"
Miss D: "What? Really?"
4th grader: "Miss D, how about we take the $30 I have in my pocket and go to a motel, you know what I'm saying?"
Miss D: "No. Do your work."
4th grader: "Miss D, my mom's boyfriend said he didn't have time to write any comments to you on this progress report cause his new video game just came out and he was playing it a lot. But he did sign it."
Miss D: "At least he signed it. Have a cookie."
Miss D, to 4th grader: "Hey, where did you get that ipod? You can't have that in class!"
4th grader: "I brought it from home! I wanna listen to my songs! Wanna hear my step-dad's friend singing?"
Miss D: "No, if your principal comes in here shes going to kill me. What does he sing?"
4th grader: "His name is Flawless. He raps. Listen!"
Miss D, listening to the dirtiest rap ever, : "NO WAY. SHUT THAT OFF. YOU CANNOT LISTEN TO THAT IN HERE, EVER AGAIN."
4th grader: "Why not? My mom lets me!"
This is unrelated, but funny:

I can't believe a 4th grader tried to sleep with you! I also can't believe he thinks he can get a motel room for $30. What kind of low class establishment is he trying to take you to!?
